Home School Link Worker

My name is Kat Tite and I am your Home School Link Worker at Wood Street School.

 

What does a Home School Link Worker do?

Home School Link Workers (HSLWs) work in partnership with pupils, parents and carers, school staff, voluntary and public sector services with the aim of supporting families through challenging times and preventing future difficulties.

 

Who can I help?

  • Parents having difficulty managing their child’s behaviour.
  • Parents needing support through the statementing process.
  • Families where children are not attending school regularly.
  • Families who are dealing with change such as parental separation or bereavement.
  • Families dealing with a wide range of other issues.

 

How can I help?

I can offer:

  • Links to agencies that offer support in areas such as chronic illness, domestic violence, alcohol and drug addictions, housing, social care, benefits systems and debt.
  • Parenting support.
  • Meetings in home or at school.
  • Help with form filling.
  • Support with the Early Help process.
  • Support by taking parents to meetings such as those relating to health, social care or counselling.
