Funding and Expenditure of the COVID Catch-Up Premium:
£1 billion of funding was announced by the Government in June 2020 to help pupils and disadvantaged young people catch up on missed education because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
In Autumn 2020, Wood Street Infant School received the first of three tranches of funding to help our children. The second two tranches have now been received and our funding totals £5760.
A lot of thought and analysis was considered very carefully before deciding on how to spend this additional funding in the best way possible for our pupils. Two members of staff have been employed on a part time basis to provide additional help to our pupils who need it most. A speech and language specialist has been working with various children throughout the school as well as an additional teaching assistant to provide academic interventions. As a school we are determined to ensure no pupil suffers from the disruption to their education caused by COVID.
