Here follows a list of ways in which we communicate information in order to keep parents well informed about school life.
Face to face
A friendly welcoming face will always greet you each morning as you arrive at school. A member of staff will be at the classroom door once the entrance door has opened at 8.45am. Similarly Mrs Hunt or Ms Hall greet our YR parents and children each morning. If you have some quick information to pass on in the morning these members of staff will assist. The friendly and accommodating office staff: Mrs Dale or Mrs Tunney are also available to assist with queries. If you wish to see your child’s class teacher or Mrs Washer please make an appointment at the office. We will try to accommodate as soon as possible. Mrs Washer is always out and about in the morning, we are all very approachable so please feel free to talk to us.
Parent Consultation Evenings
We organise termly parent meetings whereby each parent has an individual appointment to discuss your child’s progress.
End of Year School Reports
School reports are quite comprehensive and detail what your child has achieved and inform you of their next steps.
The two weekly general school newsletter will provide current information about events coming up, arrangements, interesting community news, lunch menu for the following week, attendance, star awards and sunshine sticker awards. Friends of the School also provide a column. It is very important that you read the newsletter so you keep up with what is happening every week, as things move very quickly at Wood Street.
Termly diary list all the forthcoming events and activities planned for the term ahead.
A year in advance of school holiday dates.
The yearly calendar is found on our website which provides an overview of the year ahead.
Sign up to your child's Class Dojo page to keep up to date with class and whole school related dates, information and current learning.
Our Friends of the School organise informal coffee mornings for you to pop along and meet other parents and staff.
