The school will be hosting an open day on Thursday 6th October for the parents and children of those starting school in September 2012.
There will be 3 tours of the school which you will need to book in for.  Please contact the school office on 01483 235 165 or email to book your place.
The times of the tours are:
9.15am - 10.15am
10.45am - 11.45am
1.15pm - 2.15pm
You will have an opportunity look around the school and see the changes that have recently taken place.  We have a brand new library, atlier (art area) with a huge array of art and craft equipment, small breakout reading areas, a newly opened outside learning area where the children are encouraged to grow flowers and vegetables and much, much more.
The Head Teacher, Mrs. Green will also explain the highly acclaimed educational approach which Wood Street School has adpoted, called Reggio Emilia.
The 'Reggio' approach was developed for municipal child-care and education programs serving children below six. The approach requires children to be seen as competent, resourceful, curious, imaginative, inventive and possess a desire to interact and communicate with others. Hailed as the best style of education (for children up to the age of 6) in the world, the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education has attracted the worldwide attention of educators, researchers and just about anyone interested in early childhood education best practices.
If your child is due to start school in September 2012, you will need to make your application to Surrey County Council's Admissions team by 15th January 2012.
