Weather watch in Year 1.

posted 14 Mar 2014, 07:19 by Unknown user
Today we have been thinking about the weather and how we can monitor the weather. We discussed the seasons and what kind of weather you would expect. We already have a weather chart in the class room but we thought we could make a rain gauge and a wind gauge to record the weather. We made a rain gauge out of an empty milk bottle and drew our measurements on the side. We had to dig a hole to stop the rain gauge falling over. The wind gauge we made from a bottle fill with sand, card arrows and some cocktail sticks. We found out the wind is moving in a northerly direction today. Hopefully the rain gauge will stay empty due to dry weather!!
